BETH PARETTA

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND OPERATIONS

SRT BRAND & MOTORSPORTS

Beth: SRT owners are fanatical, kind of like us on our team. And everything matters to them, especially things that go into the car, like the motor oil.

RALPH GILLES

CEO of SRT, SVP of DESIGN AT CHRYSLER GROUP, LLC

Ralph: We’re all car people. We love cars. We dream about them. We bench race. We’re always thinking about the next thing.

[Super]

RUSS RUEDISUELI

HEAD of SRT & MOTORSPORTS ENGINEERING

Russ: SRT’s kind of a unique group because the majority of us are racers, so it’s a very competitive group. So, we’re always looking for ways to be a little bit better, a little bit ahead of the rest of the team, and that’s why we like working with Pennzoil. They’ve taken oil to a new level.

Dick: The current Gen 5 Viper engine is an 8.4-liter V10. It makes 600 foot pounds of torque. It makes 640 horsepower. It’s very unique technology, and as part of that technology, we needed an oil that would work for us as well.

MATT BEJNAROWICZ

LEAD ENGINEER, SRT MOTORSPORTS

Matt: The demands of 24-hour endurance racing…you know, it stresses every part of that car, and that’s why we trust Pennzoil Ultra Platinum with PurePlus Technology.

Vipers racing on a track. Beth speaks again.

Beth: All SRT vehicles, whether it be the 300, the Challenger, the Charger or the Grand Cherokee, they all leave the factory floor with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum.

KRAIG COURTNEY

POWERTRAIN QUALITY MANAGER

Kraig: Synthetic oils, typically in the past, were modeled after standard petroleum products, and much of them haven’t changed in the years since that development was done.

Computer graphics of engine parts rotating. Close-up of container of Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, then being poured into an engine. Ralph speaks again.

Ralph: The tight tolerances that we require is exactly the benefit that Pennzoil Ultra Platinum with PurePlus Technology gives us. Being a gas-to-liquid technology, which changes natural gas to liquid, provides a much purer oil base than you can get from crude oil, which allows you to now add the additive package and get a very complete system.

PATRICK MORGAN

SENIOR MANAGER, SRT POWERTRAIN

Patrick: It’s really important for us that we have an oil that’s capable of working in a lot of environments, a lot of climates.

[In vision]

More shots of vehicles on a closed course. Russ speaks again.

Russ: I would recommend Pennzoil Ultra Platinum motor oil to anybody that puts oil in their cars.

Vipers in slo-mo during a race. Ralph speaks again.

Ralph: For the last two years now, we’ve been racing the new Viper, and it also uses a first fill from Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. And we’ve found that the oil we put in our passenger cars is good enough for the race.

[In vision]

Viper continues around a racetrack. Shots of various pit crew members working on the vehicle. Matt speaks again.

Matt: We’re endurance racing. That means the car has to run for 24 hours straight. The demands that we put on the engine are pretty incredible. The engine can be very good…but it’s only as good as the, you know, the lubrication and the protection that’s inside the engine.

KUNO WITTMER

SRT MOTORSPORTS FACTORY RACE DRIVER

[In vision]

Kuno Wittmer motions to the exposed engine of a Viper. Shot of a Viper coming into the pit during a race. Then a shot of an SRT street car, revving up and pulling away.

Kuno: When you have an engine at this capacity, this size, producing a lot of horsepower, you know, RPMs anywhere around 6000, 6400 RPMs, it is really important to have a really good oil. I choose to have Pennzoil because of the advances they make in technology. So, they’re always one step ahead, and now that they’ve come out with PurePlus Technology, which comes from natural gas, it’s exactly what you find in a street car, and it’s exactly what we find in a race car. And to a driver, that’s something that’s very, very vital to me.

MOTOR OIL THAT SRT®

TRUSTS

COMPLETELY

[In vision]

Close-ups of an engine running to test its parts, being inspected by a technician. Matt speaks again.

Matt: We can tear down our engines after 24-hour use. We run durability schedules up to 40 and 60 hours to make sure we don’t find, you know, a life of a component that’s exceeded or getting close to the finish of a race. And, you know, you swear those engines have just been screwed together.

[In vision]

Beauty shot of a Viper gives way to one of a Charger. Technicians work on engine parts. Beth speaks again, then Ralph.

Beth: At SRT Street & Racing Technology, “technology” is in our name. We’re innovative, we push forward and we’re happy to work with Pennzoil that does the same. So, whether you’re a new SRT owner or you’ve been driving one for years, you can trust Pennzoil Ultra Platinum.

Ralph: As SRT continues to find success all over the world, it gives me peace of mind to know that we have one critical component that we don’t have to worry about, and that’s Pennzoil Ultra Platinum with PurePlus Technology.

Airlift Drift

PENNZOIL Transcript—Canada/Performance/Automakers/SRT

[Title] Pennzoil Airlift Drift

Description: Night scenes of a Dodge Challenger SRT as it speeds and drifts through city streets

[Background sounds] Eerie sounds in the distance. Revving engine. Barking dog. Screeching tires.

[In vision]

Overhead shot of a downtown area at night. A bright yellow Dodge Challenger SRT speeds by. A neon “Pennzoil” light flickers. The car speeds through the streets, burnt rubber on the asphalt.

[Footnote]

Professional driver on a closed course. Do not attempt.

[Background sounds] The revving, shifting, braking and whining of a high-performance engine throughout the video

[In vision]

The car zooms down streets. A chained dog barks and drools. Speedometer shows 110 mph. The Challenger speeds under an interchange, making its way to an intersection where it begins drifting. Rubber flies. Flames appear to shoot out of the tailpipe. Overhead shot of car flying down the street. A yellow fence with a huge Pennzoil logo painted on it. The car shoots past the fence. A “straightaway” shot from the driver’s perspective. The car moves back into an intersection to continue drifting. Screaming tires as the driver spins back and comes to a full stop. A thick link chain is pulled taut.

[Background sounds] Clanging metal. Muffled voices on transmitters. Helicopter blades whirring.

[In vision]

Camera pans up to see what appears to be a helicopter overhead, bright light shining down. A front shot of the vehicle appears to show it being lifted in the air, buildings descending in the background. Quick shots of the tires spinning, tach revving, smoke pouring out of the wheel wells. An overhead shot shows four helicopters in a square formation, with special rigs hoisting a large square platform, the spotlights of each helicopter shining down on the vehicle as it drifts to the very edges.

[Background sounds] The blades of four helicopters whirring in unison

[In vision]

The suspended platform, looking like something out of a superhero movie, seems barely able to contain the maneuverings of the Challenger as it speeds and spins from side to side, corner to corner. Overhead shot off the edge to the streets below, then a street shot up with a glimpse of the brake lights spinning by, smoke continuing to pour off the vehicle. With an explosive sound, the car spins toward the camera, then quick-cuts to a “smoking” container of Pennzoil Platinum with PurePlus Technology. The blue smoke then magically makes the Pennzoil disappear….
