Pennzoil Competition Eliminator driver Bill Kent always has a smile on his face, and for good reason. The native Texan's bright yellow Pennzoil Dragster has proven to be one of the fastest and the quickest-responding hot rod in its class in a sport where the lowest elapsed time and the highest registered speed are the true marks of the person behind the wheel. Kent finished 1998 in his Pennzoil C-Dragster with a pass of 7.096 seconds at 189.79 mph. It was the first C-Dragster run of less than 7.10 seconds ever recorded, and both the time and speed would have reset the C-Dragster records once again. The 2000 season found Kent competing in 6 national events and ending the year 26th in the national points standings. Kent competed in three NHRA Competition Eliminator events in 2003 and finished 21st in the series’ final point standings.
