As a three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, Joey Logano has spent much of his career behind the wheel of high-performance race cars. But when it comes to his personal collection, his favorite vehicle isn't the fastest one in the garage.
Instead, that honor belongs to a 1924 Ford Model T.
How many cars do you have in your collection?
I have about 30-ish at the moment; give or take five or six. Some are newer additions, some I've had for years, but every vehicle has a story behind it and a reason it's in the collection.
What is your favorite car in your collection and why?
My favorite is the 1924 Ford Model T. I can't get a speeding ticket in it, and I like seeing how far the automotive industry has come over the last 100-plus years. I also like the fact that no one could ever steal it, since not many people know how to drive it. And even though it feels like I'm going really, really fast, I'm only going 20 miles per hour.
What's your most memorable drive in that car?
When I took Edsel Ford and Darrell Waltrip for a ride in it while shooting a FOX feature around Concord, N.C, I even got Edsel to sign the car, which made the experience even more memorable. I believe that was around 2014.
What does "keeping a car for the long run" mean to you?
It means a car with many family memories. In other words, it's meant to be a 'forever car' you don't want to get rid of. It's something you built with your dad or made memories with as a kid. Those cars mean a lot. Those cars are the ones you want to keep.
